The National Initiative for Agriculture Development (NIAD), in collaboration with Ghosn Al Bahrain; Sanwan Nursery; and Abu Subaie Nursery, announced the completion of planting of 200 acacia trees at Al Fateh Mosque.
The initiative reflects strong community partnerships in promoting sustainable development and increasing vegetative cover.
Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), highlighted the significance of Al Fateh Grand Mosque as one of the Kingdom’s most prominent religious landmarks, welcoming thousands of worshippers and visitors, making it an ideal site for green space development and environmental enhancement.
Asim Abdullatif Abdullah, Undersecretary for Agriculture and Animal Wealth, underscored the Ministry’s support for all initiatives aligned with Bahrain’s national afforestation plan, which aims to double the number of trees and strengthen environmental sustainability.
He commended the partnership with NIAD and the private sector, as well as the contributors to the Al Fateh Mosque tree-planting initiative, which supports the goals of the national afforestation strategy.
