The National Initiative for Agricultural Development, in collaboration with the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the Supreme Council for the Environment (SCE), announced the support of Kuwait Finance House-Bahrain (KFH) to finance the planting of two sites in the Southern Governorate, as part of the national campaign for afforestation “Forever Green”.
The Al Muaskar Highway in Riffa will be planted with 50 acacia seedlings, and the Shaikh Salman Highway near the clock roundabout will be planted with 200 albizia seeds.
The campaign was launched in the presence of Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary-General of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD).
Abdulhakim Al Khayyat, Managing Director and CEO of KFH praised this national initiative, which aligns with the bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community partnerships.
He affirmed the importance of this cooperation in promoting sustainability and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Aly Khayyat praised the efforts of the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture and the SCE’s efforts in implementing this important initiative.
This contribution is part of a coordinated effort between the public and private sectors to develop environmental projects in various governorates and areas of Bahrain, as part of the national campaign for afforestation “Forever Green” to increase the capacity for green areas in public spaces.
The national campaign also aims to mitigate climate change caused by increased carbon emissions, improve air quality, and support local and international efforts to reach carbon neutrality by 2060.
