Manama: The Children and Mothers Welfare Society and the Bahrain Mobility International Center premises have turned greener after plants and trees were planted there as part of the Forever Green campaign.
The beautification efforts were made possible thanks to the community partnership between the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD) and Bahrain Branch Nursery (BBN) within the spirit of the Forever Green campaign that calls for a more active role of the private sector institutions in contributing to expanding green areas and preserving Bahrain’s agricultural heritage.
The afforestation ceremony at the headquarters of the Children and Mothers Welfare Society in Isa Town was held in the presence of NIAD Secretary General Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, President of the Society Shaikha Hind bint Salman Al Khalifa, and members of the board.
During the ceremony, 49 trees and 40 plants were planted.
At the Children and Mothers Welfare Society, children affiliated with the center joined Shaikha Maram and members of the center’s administration during the ceremony as 115 trees and 40 plants at their premises.
Shaikha Maram highlighted the objectives of the Forever Green campaign that stemmed from the vision of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa to boost and enhance the agricultural sector, expand the green areas in the Kingdom and contribute to the completion of municipal projects in greening streets, public walkways and waterfronts.
The campaign has also actively encouraged all institutions and individuals to contribute to the development of the green areas in the Kingdom.
